Lois C. Coss, 85, of Litchfield, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017 at 7:35 A.M. at the Alhambra Care Center in Alhambra, IL.

Lois was born on July 16, 1931 in Coffeen, IL, a daughter of the late Aaron and Ethel (Elmore) White.

Lois married Roger William Coss on December 13, 1947 and he survives.

Lois previously worked for the Brown Shoe Company, Litchfield Dress Factory, and Ted’s Jewelry all in Litchfield. Lois was an Avon representative for 42 years. She loved flowers and cooking and made the best homemade pies and noodles.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Coss of Litchfield, daughters, Brenda (Don) Bandy- Rogier of Highland, IL, & Barbara (Gary) Bassett of New Douglas, IL.; grandchildren, Michelle (Tim) Rusteberg & Bain (Companion, Amy Henschen) Bassett; great-grandchildren, Marisa Rusteberg, Emma Rusteberg, & Brenna Kay Bassett, brothers, Rex White of Taylor Springs, IL, Denver (Margaret) White of South Carolina; sisters, Betty (Olin) Settles of Irving, IL, & Shirley (Herbert) Wright of Vandalia, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law Jerry Bandy, and siblings, James White, Lavon Logsdon, Paul White, Wilma White & Larry White.

Funeral services will be held Thursday April 13, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Litchfield Family Funeral Service in Litchfield, IL. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Litchfield Family Funeral Service. Burial will be in the Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield. The family suggests memorials to be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, Parkinson’s Disease Foundation or the Litchfield Food Pantry.

I lost my very good friend today but knowing she is in a better place now no pain. My sympathy to you Roger Barb and Brenda and the rest of the family. Prayers for you all. Lois was one of the kindest, most giving person I've known. She was always thinking what she could do for others... Her cooking/baking skills were well known and appreciated... She will be missed...
