Carol A (Watkins) Lankutis

Carol Ann (Watkins) Lankutis, 85, of Litchfield, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on January 11, 2020 at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care in Litchfield, IL

She was born on August 28, 1934 in North Litchfield Township to Mr. and Mrs. William and Amelia Watkins.

She attended Litchfield Schools and after graduation became employed by the Illinois Consolidated Telephone Company where she was an operator for 26 years until retirement. She then worked for Litchfield National Bank as a custodian for 8 years and she was co-owner of J&L Bike Shop in Litchfield with her late husband, Mr. George Lankutis for 16 years.

On November 1, 1952 she married George Lankutis in Litchfield, IL

They had four children: Harold Lee and wife Brenda Sue, James Alan, Brenda Kay and husband, Dwayne Wayman, and Lee George all of Litchfield. They had 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Lankutis loved life to the fullest and had a strong walk and faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was always active in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s lives. She enjoyed motorcycling all over the Litchfield and surrounding areas well into her 70’s. She also loved spending time with her canine and feline family as well as writing letters to friends and family.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Litchfield Family Funeral Service in Litchfield, IL. Pastor Gary Allen will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until time of service in the funeral home. Burial will follow after at the Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield.
