Dale Street

Dale R. Street, 77, of Litchfield, IL passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 5:15 A.M. at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.

Dale was born on August 16, 1939 in Litchfield, IL, a son of William Richard & Dorothy Mae (DeWitt) Street.

Dale attended the Litchfield High School and was known to all as a carpenter and handyman and one who always had a good joke to share.

Over the years, Dale was a cab driver for Caroline Boerckel, employed by Caterpillar in Decatur, IL, was self-employed as a detailer and was a custodian for several years for the Litchfield Community School Unit District #12.

He was a member of the Litchfield Moose Lodge #1634, VFW Post #3912 & the Eagles, all in Litchfield.

Dale was an AVID St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed buying and restoring classic cars and participating in the Wolfpack Car shows around the area. 

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Street of Litchfield, IL

He was preceded in death by his father

Graveside services will be held Monday, February 13, 2017 at 2:30 P.M. at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield, IL. Don Hudelson with the Southside Church in Litchfield, IL will officiate. The family suggests memorials be directed to the family.
