Dale Eugene Weller, Sr.

Dale Eugene Weller, Sr., 93, of Litchfield, IL, passed away January 22, 2020 at 2:35 P.M. at his home in Litchfield.

He was born on September 7, 1926, in Litchfield, IL, the oldest of 13, a son of Edgar and Mildred (Hamilton) Weller.

Dale was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, having served during WWII in the Pacific Theatre, stationed in the Philippines. 

He attended Litchfield Schools and was a machine operator at Roller Derby in Litchfield, IL for 45 plus years.

On July 20, 1948, he married the former Regina Orblish in Litchfield, IL. She preceded him in death on December 19, 2015.

Anybody who knew Dale knew him as the gentleman at the checkout lines with stacks of coupons. He enjoyed looking through the ads finding his next bargain. Most of the time, he would donate the items that he would get to local charities and loved ones. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping.

Brothers,                               Jack (Naomi) Weller of Litchfield, IL,  Marvin “Grump” (Jackie) Weller of Independence, MO, Harry (Patty) Weller of Litchfield, IL

Sister,                                     Freda Kieslar of Hillsboro, IL

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 27, 2020 at 12:00 P.M. at the Litchfield Family Funeral Service in Litchfield, IL, Pastor Rudy Elam will officiate. Visitation will be held Monday from 11:00 A.M. until service time. Burial will follow in the Elm Lawn Cemetery In Litchfield. The family of Dale suggests memorial contributions be directed to the National Wild Life Federation.
