Lee E. Canter

Lee E. Canter, 64, of Litchfield, IL passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019 at 10:44 P.M. at his residence.

Lee was born on December 8, 1954 in Litchfield, IL, a son of Donald and Lucille (Pollard) Canter.

He attended Litchfield schools and was a laborer at Worksaver in Litchfield, where he fabricated equipment for heavy machinery and later he served as security personnel at Deer Run Coal Mine in Hillsboro, IL.  

He married Bernice I. Niemeyer on June 28, 1985 at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, IL, she preceded in him death on June 16, 2014.

Lee enjoyed working on vehicles and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Lee is survived by his three children,  Casey Canter, Kyle Canter, and Callie (Damien) Wall all of Litchfield, IL; grandchildren, Alex, Xavier, and Layla; sisters, Ruth (Jim) Werner of Wilsonville, IL, Geytha (Gary) Widner of Springfield, IL and Kathy (Kennedy) Waters of Litchfield, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Edgewood Cemetery in Litchfield, IL. Pastor, Rudy Elam will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at Litchfield Family Funeral Service. The family suggests monetary donations be directed to the family.
