Ailene Katherina (Fuchs) Schmidt, 99 of Litchfield, IL passed away Thursday afternoon, January 12, 2023, at her residence.
Ailene was born October 26, 1923, in Farmersville, IL, a daughter of Herman R. and Anna Wilhemina "Minnie" (Holtkoetter) Fuchs.
Ailene graduated from Farmersville High School at the age of 16.
She married Elmer Henry Schmidt, December 22, 1951 in Farmersville, IL and he passed away August 5, 1991.
Ailene was a homemaker and retired from Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield as a cook for the school. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield where she helped with the Ladies Aid Society making quilts. Ailene loved crocheting, babysitting and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Lucas Hardt, great great-grandson Finley Lane brothers Alfred and Vernon Fuchs and a brother in infancy.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023, 11:00 to 1:00 pm at Zion Lutheran Church, Litchfield, IL.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 pm at the church with Revs Fred Kramer and Tim Wilcoxen officiating.
Burial will follow in Elm Lawn Cemetery, Litchfield.
Ailene is survived by her daughters, Vernetta (Lindell) Hardt of Litchfield, IL, Arla Mae (John) Luther of Oregon, Anita "Pete" (Ronald) Davis of Litchfield, IL, Kathy (Greg) Entzenberger of Houston, TX, grandchildren, Hardt Sachs, Sunnie (Bill) Gulliver, Blaze Hardt, Corrie (Fred) Campbell, Dusttie (Dan) Beck, Christopher (Tina) Luther, Eric (Sara) Luther, Douglas Luther, Brandie (A.J.) Meyers, Ronald Davis, Jr., April (Dennis) Rottmann,, Ryan (Miranda) Davis, Roger (Brittany) Davis, Ashley (Dustin) Everett, Gretchen Entzenberger, Andrew (Danielle) Entzenberger, 35 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Litchfield, Illinois.
