Betty Jean Kruse, 69, of Litchfield passed away Sunday morning, August 24, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital at 6:05 a.m. in Litchfield, IL. Betty was born on October 26, 1944 in Litchfield, IL, a daughter of Walter & Ida (Kline) Stockamp.

Betty graduated from Litchfield High School with the class of 1961. She married Christy Kruse on June 24, 1963 in Litchfield, IL. He preceded her in death on January 12, 2000. Betty was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield.

Betty worked most of her life on the family farm, farming her own land. She also worked at Jubelts Bakery in Litchfield for 20 years as a cook.

Betty is survived by 2 sons,                           Kevin (Deborah) Kruse of Litchfield

                                                                        Karl (Leanne) Kruse of Litchfield

Grandchildren,                                               Katherine Kruse of Litchfield

                                                                        Kimberly Kruse of Shreveport, IA

                                                                        Karly Kruse & Kylie Kruse both of Litchfield

Great-granddaughter,                                    Kadence Gerdes of Litchfield.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Christy, & brother Walter Stockamp.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday August 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Litchfield Family Funeral Service in Litchfield, IL. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 26, 2014 from 4 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield. The family suggests memorials be directed to Zion Lutheran Church, Zion Lutheran School or Heritage Manor Activity Fund.
