Betty Rovey, 91, of Litchfield, IL passed away peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2020 at 9:30 A.M. at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care in Litchfield, IL.
She was born on August 1, 1928 in a house in Pawnee, IL, a daughter and one of 11 children of the late White and Dorothy (Barnett) VanHuss.
She grew up in the small town of Virden, IL and attended a country school up until the 6th grade.
After some persuading, she went on a date with Amos Rovey and it didn’t take him long to propose. They were married on November 28, 1945 in Farmersville, IL and they made their first home Thomasville, IL. Shortly after, they moved to a farm in Litchfield, IL where they raised all of their children and she helped her husband on the farm
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Litchfield, IL and was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family, crediting her favorite family times were always going to church together. Betty also enjoyed all the holidays and they were celebrated with big meals which she enjoyed preparing. Betty also had an artistic side that shined throughout her latch hook and painting pictures.

Daughters, Karen (Harry) Pinkerton of Litchfield, IL, Emma (Jim) Bergman of Greenville, IL, Sharon (Phil) Bryant of Litchfield, IL, Ruth (Mark) Jarman of Litchfield, IL, and Amy Rovey of Litchfield, IL
21 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Amos, son, Jasper Rovey, 5 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Due to Coronavirus restrictions, a drive-through visitation will be held Thursday, May 21, 2020 from 4:00 until 7:00 at Faith Lutheran Church in Litchfield, IL. A private family graveside service will be held Friday, May 22, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at the Rovey Cemetery in Farmersville, IL. Pastor Ritter, minister of Faith Lutheran Church will officiate. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Faith Lutheran Church in Litchfield.
