Betty L (Sowarsh) Schrempp

Betty L. Schrempp, 85, of Hillsboro, IL, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021 at the Montgomery County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs, IL.

She was born on August 27, 1935 in Rountree Township, IL, a daughter of the late Frank and Lucille (Lipe) Sowarsh.

Betty married Marvin Schrempp in 1958 at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis, IL. They later divorced.

Betty graduated from Witt High School and was a bank teller for 37 years at the former Boatman’s Bank in Hillsboro, IL. After retirement, she continued to serve the public while working at Casey’s in Hillsboro. Betty was a member of the Lions Club in Hillsboro, IL.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Greg) Schoen, granddaughter, Stephanie (Jaimann) Ellis and great-granddaughter, Zian Ellis all of Hillsboro, IL

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert and Myron Sowarsh & sister, Wilma Spindel

Private Family Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 8, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Litchfield Family Funeral Service. Mark Noyes will officiate. Burial will take place at the St. Agnes Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Lions Club in Hillsboro.
