Obituary

Beulah I. Haberman, 94, of Litchfield, Illinois, formerly of Chester, Illinois was taken home on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at her residence. She was born in Rockwood, Illinois on January 21, 1929, to John and Dora (Grah) Draves. She married Arthur Haberman on August 14, 1948 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Chester, Illinois. Arthur preceded her in death on July 26, 2008, in Litchfield, Illinois

Beulah was a member of St. John’s Church in Chester, Illinois. She was also a member of Chester Eagles, and Moose Lodge in Chester and Litchfield. She worked in the bakery at the old Mohr and Wittenborn grocery store in Chester, Illinois. She loved the simple things in life, sitting outside and watching nature. She also  loved gardening, especially flowers, working in the yard, playing cards, and spending time with friends and family. During her life, she was able to travel, especially to Florida in the winter with her husband.

She was the mother of 5 children. Born to Beulah and Art were Sharon (Gary) Gerdes, Janet (Gary) Robertson, Patsy Lindner, and Tina Manzullo. One daughter, Cathy Ann Haberman, infant daughter, died in 1953. She was proud of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren are Sandy Lankutis (fiancé Jeff), Matthew Gerdes (special friend Morgan), Renee Lindner, Julie Robertson, and Andrew Robertson (special friend Alecia). Great-Grandchildren, Ashleigh Stockert, Brittani Stockert (special friend Matt Butcher), Marrissa (Kevin Young), Harmonnie Stockert, Matthew Gerdes, Langdon Lankutis, Luke Lankutis, and Tyler Robertson. She especially loved her new great-great-granddaughters, Hayden Young and Paislee Butcher.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Lloyd Draves, an infant brother, and an infant daughter, Cathy Ann, and grandson Chuck Lindner.

Per Beulah’s wishes, she will be cremated with private family services at a later time. In lieu of flowers, family asks that donations be made to the donor’s choice.
