Catherine "Katie" Louise Wolfe

Catherine “Katie” Louise Wolfe, 86, of Litchfield, IL, passed away Monday, July 9, 2018 at 2:18 P.M. at the HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield, IL.

Katie, as she was known by, was born on November 16, 1931 in Litchfield, IL, a daughter of Louis and Eva Maria (Farmer) Slusser.

Katie married Warren L. Wolfe on October 10, 1981 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, IL. He survives.

Katie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, where she was an active member and helpful in all areas.

She graduated Litchfield High School with the class of 1949 and was most commonly recognized at Coffman’s Drug Store in Litchfield where she was a clerk for 16 years. Katie was also a homemaker and loving mother.

Katie enjoyed attending her Coffee Club mornings where she and thirteen other ladies met at Jublets Café, once a week for several years. Katie always took care of her friends, making sure they were able to get to where they needed to go, and in return, when Katie was unable, her friends returned the favor and they always took care of each other.

Katie’s grandchildren were the light of her life and she enjoyed every moment spent with them. She never missed any activity they were involved in and was always their biggest supporter. Every year, for Easter, Katie and Warren hosted an Easter Egg Hunt for their family. The grandchildren enjoyed it all through their youth and even to adulthood.

Katie was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Tim White, brother, Melvin Slusser, & first husband Everett Meicenheimer

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, IL. Pastor Fred Kraemer will officiate. Visitation will be held Friday, July 13 from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Litchfield Family Funeral Service in Litchfield, IL. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield, IL. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Zion Lutheran Onward in Faith campaign or the Montgomery County Cancer Association.
