Charles "Charlie" Richard Bierbaum

Charles "Charlie" Richard Bierbaum, 91, of Litchfield, IL,  passed away Monday, September 23, 2024, at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.  

Charlie was born May 13, 1933, in Litchfield, IL, a son of Charlie W. and Minnie Hartke Bierbaum. 

He graduated from Litchfield High School with the class of 1951. Charlie was in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955.

He married June Ritterbush April 4, 1964, in New Holland, IL. 

Charlie was a farmer in the Litchfield area for twenty years. He was also a Loan Officer at Bank & Trust, retiring in 2002. 

He was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, IL.  He enjoyed working on the family farm throughout his entire life. He also enjoyed bowling. 

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Marie Hayes, Lois Senter,  Wilma Zimmerman, and brothers Earl and Leon Bierbaum. 

 
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 4, from 4-7 pm at Zion Lutheran Church, 1301 N. State St., Litchfield, IL. 

Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, October 5, at 11 am at  Zion Lutheran Church, Litchfield, IL, with Pastor Fred Kraemer presiding. 

Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Litchfield, IL.

Charlie is survived by his wife, June Marie Bierbaum of Litchfield, IL, son, Richard (Krista) Bierbaum of Marshall, MI, son, Daniel Bierbaum of Litchfield, IL, grandson, Luke Bierbaum, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or Zion Lutheran School.
