Clifford A. Duke, 76, of Litchfield, IL, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at the John Cochran’s Veterans Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
He was born on June 11, 1942 in Colchester, IL, a son of Harold and Luetta (Vawter) Duke.
Clifford married the former Judy Ann Dodder on June 28, 1970 in Washington, IA, she survives.
Mr. Duke was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served time in Vietnam.
He graduated from Colchester High School and was a baker for Jublets Bakery in Mt. Olive, IL until his retirement in April of 1991.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing poker with Darren.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Duke of Litchfield, IL, children, Michelle (Darren) Lingenfelter of Santa Clara, CA; Jeffrey (Misty) Duke of Litchfield, IL 2 step-grandsons, Justin (fiancée Jennifer Smith)Lingenfelter and Ethan Yearley and 3 great-step grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Bennett of Alton, IL Mary Lou Webber of Alton, IL, & Darlene Duke of Alton, IL; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Bonnie and Dolly Duke; brothers-in-law, Donnie Webber and Mike Bennett & John Dooley.
Private family funeral services will be held at the Litchfield Family Funeral Service in Litchfield, IL. Burial will take place at a later date. The family suggests monetary donations be directed to the St. Clare Food Pantry in Litchfield, IL.
