David William Bailey

David William Bailey, 75, of Litchfield, IL, passed away on Friday morning, January 24, 2025, at his home in Litchfield, IL.  

David was born September 22, 1949, in Harvel, IL, a son of Homer Dwight and Dorothy Louise (Prange) Bailey. David graduated from Raymond Lincolnwood with the class of 1968. He attended Lincoln Land College.

David was a proud veteran serving with the Marine Corp. After leaving the service he was an engineer and switchman for the Central Illinois railroad system. He did most of his work in Chicago and in Illinois Midland. Being a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, IL was how he showed his faith. He loved sports and was an avid Cardinal and Arkansas Razorback fan. He played softball often and was the teams catcher. 

David was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Judy Branson.  

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025, 10:00 to 12:00 pm at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Litchfield, IL.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 pm, on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Litchfield.

Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, IL.

David is survived by his son, Jaime (significant other Anna Hubert) of Litchfield, IL, grandson, Jayden Joseph, sister, Joyce (Jim) Cranford of Litchfield, IL, sister, Janice (William) Kalaher of Litchfield, IL, several nieces & nephews as well as several great nieces & nephews.
