David M. Compton

David M. Compton, 81 of Litchfield, IL, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.  

David was born May 6, 1943, in Walshville, IL, a son of Owen and Laverna (Havron) Compton. David graduated from Hillsboro High School with the class of 1962.  He married Barbara Hendrickson on October 16, 1964. 

David was a coal miner with Freeman United in Farmersville, IL. He was also a member of United Mine Workers of America, Local #12. He loved horses and barrel raced for over 50 years. David enjoyed having coffee with his friends.

David was preceded in death by his wife, parents, sister, Algera Row, brother, Walter Compton, sister, Winifred Logan, brother, Charles Compton, brother, Camby Compton.  

Private Burial will be conducted at Waveland Cemetery, Hillsboro, IL.

David is survived by his son, Brian (Tammy) Compton of Litchfield, IL, daughter, Debbie (Jeff) Kornmann of Litchfield, IL, son, Jeff (Lori) Compton of Litchfield, IL, son, Bradley Compton of Davenport, IA, son, Dennis (Pamela) Compton of Carlinville, IL, son, Craig (Amanda) Compton of Litchfield, IL, 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, brother, Clay Compton of Litchfield, IL, sister, Gladys (Ernie) Cordova, brother, Herb (Linda) Compton, several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to American Heart Association.
