Dennis Moore Obituary

Dennis Ray “Denny” Moore, 74, of Walshville, IL passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020 ar 11:10 A.M. at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur, IL. 

He was born on May 1, 1946 in Litchfield, IL, a son of the late John and Edith (Akeman) Moore. 

Denny graduated from Litchfield High School with the class of 1964 and went on to attend University of Illinois for 1 year and then graduated from St. Louis Christain College. 

He married the former Linda Titsworth on August 11, 1972 at the Walshville Christian Church in Walshville, IL. She survives. 

In his younger years, Denny worked on the family farm and later at the Milnot Company in Litchfield for 21 years. Most recently, Denny was the sexton of Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield until his retirement in 2009. 

He was a member of the Walshville Christain Church where he was an Elder and Sunday School Teacher. 

In his leisure time, he loved watching movies, reading and mushroom hunting.  Denny loved being around his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He was also an animal lover. 

Denny is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda Moore of Walshville, IL

Son, Tim Moore of Las Cruces, NM 

Daughters, Christy Moore of Litchfield, IL and Andrea Moore of O’Fallon, IL

Grandchildren, Jacob and Mackenzie Cunningham, Colby Moore and Charlotte Rizzuti-Moore

Brothers, Roger (Myrna) Moore of Greencastle, IN and James (Nadine) Moore of Rockbridge, IL

Sister, Gloria Howard of Hillsboro, IL

Several nieces and nephews 

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Moore. 

Private Family Services will be held Friday, January 8, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Walshville Chrisitan Church in Litchfield, IL. Reverends Mark Johnson and Steve Revisky will co-officiate. 

There will be no visitation. Burial will follow in the Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield, IL. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Walshville Christian Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
