Donald Titsworth Obituary

Donald Lee “Don” Titsworth, 90, of Litchfield, IL, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday October 21, 2020.

He was born on October 11, 1930 in Grisham Township near Walshville, IL, a son of the late Howard Iva and Gladys Marie (Engles) Titsworth.

Don was a proud veteran of the United Sates Navy, having served for 5 ½ years during the Korean War.

Mr. Titsworth married the former Grace Jackson on October 2, 1951 in Litchfield, IL and they recently celebrated their 69th anniversary.

Don belonged to the local labor union and was employed as a roofer. He was a member of the American Legion and was a member of 1st Shift Liar’s Club who met for morning coffee at 5:00 A.M., daily.

Don enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting, spending time with his family and cherishing his wife. Don also had a sense of humor that was second to none and was known to have an ornery streak once in a while.

Along with his wife, Grace, He is survived by:

2 Daughters,         Donna Sharp of Litchfield, IL & Jeanie (Steve) Schmidt) of Butler, IL

5 Sons,                   Daniel (Ruth) Titsworth of King George, Virginia; David  Titsworth of Hillsboro, IL;

                                Mark (Lisa) Titsworth of Omaha, Nebraska; Randy (Pam Rhodes) Titsworth of Divernon, IL &

                                Clay (Kelly) Titsworth of Litchfield, IL

17 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 1 great –great grandson.

Brother,  Wayne Titsworth of Bowling Green, KY 

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Levi Titsworth; son-in-law, Roger Sharp; daughter-in-law, Lisa Titsworth; sister, Ethel Boehme

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 31, at 2:00 P.M. at Litchfield Family Funeral Service in Litchfield, IL. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Son-in-law, Steve Schmidt will officiate. Cremation will follow services and burial will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Veterans’ Memorial Garden in Litchfield, IL.

Due to CDC guidelines and restrictions, social distancing rules apply, and masks will be required.  

Litchfield Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
