Donna Jean Gary

Donna Jean Gary, 76, of Litchfield, passed away Saturday morning, July 1, 2023 at Centralia Manor in Centralia, IL.  
  
Donna was born on September 18, 1946 to Dorman and Lorraine (Beck) Ballinger in Chicago, IL. 
  
 Donna graduated from St. Benedict High School in Chicago with the class of 1964.  She married Edward Gary on May 25, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois and they later divorced.    Donna was a legal secretary for Maureen Lober in Litchfield for over 20 years.  She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Litchfield, and also a member of Beta Sigma Phi in Litchfield.  She was a volunteer for meals on wheels and the Litchfield food pantry.  Donna enjoyed reading and would volunteer to read with the inmates at Graham Correctional Center in Hillsboro.  She also enjoyed playing cards with friends, cross-stitching, traveling the world with family and friends, going on bus trips, and listening to gospel music.  Donna loved spending time with family and friends, especially attending her grandkids sporting and theatre events.  Her special friends and companions were her schnauzer dogs.  
  
Donna is survived by two daughters, Ann (Matt) Wilzbach of Salem, IL, and Susan (Andrew) Herbert of Orlando, FL; two granddaughters, Emily Wilzbach, and Leah Herbert; four grandsons, Aaron Wilzbach, Evan Wilzbach, Alex Wilzbach, and Colin Herbert. 
  
Donna was preceded in death by parents Dorman and Lorraine Ballinger.
  
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2023, from 9:00 am - 10:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Litchfield, IL.
     
Mass of Christian Burial  will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at 10:00 am at the Holy Family Catholic Church, with Fr. Daniel Willenborg, officiating.
  
Burial will take place in the  Holy Cross Cemetery in Litchfield.
  
Memorials are suggested to either  the Holy Family Catholic Church or St. Jude Hospital.
