Ellis Eugene Johnson Sr.

80, of Litchfield, passed away Wednesday May 16, 2012 at his Residence. He was born to Violet E. (mitchell) and Henry George Johnson. He later married Rosemary (Everett) Johnson on July 23, 1955 at Walschville, IL. they had five children Phillip Johnson, Jody Hartman, Terry Johnson, Janice Lowe, Becky Johnson, and Ellis Johnson Jr. Ellis worked for Wabash Railroad, Wepco Factory at Litchfield,  and started for the City of Litchfield-Water and Street Department on May 1, 1971 where he retired. He enjoyed fishing, garage sales, mushroom hunting, cards, bowling, grandkids, swimming, car rides to the lake, and puzzles.   Ellis served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.

Surviving are Spouse: Rosemary, Children: Phillip Johnson of Litchfield, Jody (Bill) Hartman of Hillsboro, IL, Terry Johnson and Grilfriend JoAnn Rhodes of Litchfield, Janice (Robert) Lowe of Granite City, IL, Becky Johnson of Litchfield, and Ellis (Rhonda) Johnson Jr. of Litchfield. 20 Grandchildren and 26 Great Grandchildren, Brothers and Sisters: Ester Schultz of Witt, IL, Fern Cravens of Litchfield and Several Nieces and Nephews.  [Deceased: Harry Jones and Earl and Everett Jonson and Great Grandchild Lark Bersch] 

Visitation will be Friday May 18, 2012, from 9:00 A.M to 11:00 A.M at Litchfield Family Funeral Servicewith funeral services at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Burial will be in  Edgewood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the family.
