Eva Speed

Eva Iona Speed, 92, of Litchfield, passed away Monday evening at 11:25 p.m. in St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. She was born on June 27, 1921 in Litchfield, a daughter of Corbett & Lizzie (Reents) Young. Eva married George Lessel Speed on August 22, 1945. He preceded her in death. In her spare time, Eva enjoying fishing, doing word searches and especially enjoyed her grandchildren.

She is survived by:

1 daughter,                              Kathryn Irene (Edward) Schneck of Sorento

2 brothers,                               Roy Young of Litchfield

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George; daughter, Donna Faye Hampton; brothers, Otto, David, Harry, & Steve Young; sister, Mandy Harms.

Funeral Services will be held Friday January 17 at 11 a.m. at Litchfield Family Funeral Service in Litchfield, IL. Rev. Steve Revisky, minister of the Christian Church of Litchfield, will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9 until service time in the funeral home. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield. The family suggests memorials be directed to the family of Eva Speed c/o Joseph Speed.
