George Edward Meyer, 70, of Litchfield, IL, passed away Saturday evening at 5:00 p.m. at his residence. He was born on July 27, 1943 in Havana, IL, a son of George E. Meyer & Maudie Davis Hobbs.
George was a veteran of the United States Army for 18 ½ years, serving 3 tours in Viet Nam and becoming disabled after each tour.
George spent 16 years working for the Department of Interior in Cheyanne, Wyoming and also the Bureau of Land Management.
George was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and the Moose Lodge of Litchfield and member of the Masons in Wyoming.
George is survived by:

George was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Donna Noe Markland, Delores Dixon, & Daisy Row.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Litchfield Family Funeral Service in Litchfield, IL. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Havana, IL at Laurel Hill Cemetery August 4, 2014. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Montgomery County Cancer Association.
