H. Wayne Mullen

H. Wayne Mullen, 74, of Litchfield, IL, passed away Saturday evening at 10:30 p.m. at his residence. Wayne was born on August 24, 1939 in Waggoner, IL, a son of the late Charles H. & Delma O. (Hunter) Mullen.

Wayne married the former Nancy H. Collins on June 21, 1958 and they were married for 56 years, she survives.

Wayne was a lifelong farmer, farming ground in the Girard & Atwater area and raised livestock. He loved the earth and what it produced. He was also a truck driver for Schien out of Carlinville, IL.

Wayne was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Litchfield, he was also a member of the JC’s, Elks, Crime Stoppers and was also a school board member.

Wayne was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves.

Along with his wife, Nancy, he is survived by:

Daughter,                                                         Linda (Marc) Buck of Knoxville, TN

Son,                                                                   Randy Mullen of Hillsboro

Daughter-in-law,                                            Tammy Mullen Murphy

Grandchildren,                                                Ryan, Renae, Jordan, Danielle, & Chelsea

Great-grandchildren,                                     Bryanna, Baylee, and Bentley.

Brother,                                                            Ed Mullen of Brighton, NY

Sister,                                                                Dottie (Glenn) Paden of Hillsboro

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Delma Mullen, son, Rick Mullen on November 12, 2006 and brothers, Charles W. Mullen and Jim Mullen.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Litchfield Family Funeral Service in Litchfield, IL. Visitation will be Tuesday July 8, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Matt Ferguson, will officiate. Burial will be at the Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield, IL. The family suggests memorials be directed to the American Cancer Association,  the Shriners Children’s Hospital or the First Presbyterian Church in Litchfield.
