James Jameson Clelland

James Jameson Clelland, lll, 70, of Litchfield IL, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021 at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield, IL.

He was born on June 17, 1950 in Litchfield, IL, a son of James Jameson Clelland, Jr. & Ellen (Watts) Clelland.

Mr. Clelland was a proud Veteran of the United States Army having served during Vietnam from 1970 to 1971. He received several accommodations for his time in service.

James married the former Peggy Schultz on July 11, 1984 in Litchfield, IL, had two children together, and they later divorced. He later found his partner in life, Cyndi Greenwood and next month, would have celebrated 12 years together.

He graduated from Litchfield High School with the class of 1968. He attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale to further his education and become a teacher; however, before the completion of his studies, he was drafted into United States Army. After Vietnam, James attended Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, and then was employed for many years through Worksaver in Litchfield, IL.

James was a member of the Union Avenue Christian Church in Litchfield, IL and enjoyed being outdoors. He especially liked to garden, cook, and play cribbage.

Mr. Clelland is survived by his mother, Ellen Clelland of Litchfield, IL

Brothers,   David Clelland of Glen Carbon, IL and  Donald Clelland of Litchfield, IL

Preceded in death by his father, James Clelland, Jr. and brother, Steve Clelland.

Services and Military Funeral Honors will be conducted at a later date.
