Janet Marie (Bain) Bergman

Janet Marie Bergman, 73, of Litchfield, IL, passed away Saturday afternoon, December 15, 2018 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL. 

Janet was born on June 6, 1945 to William and Velma (Nimmons) Bain in Litchfield, IL. After William's death, Velma remarried Vernon Easterly, who also preceded her in death. She graduated from Litchfield High School with the class of 1963.  Janet married Dallas H. Bergman on October 20, 1967 at St. Timothy United Methodist Church and they recently celebrated 51 years of marriage.

Janet worked for Litchfield National Bank, as well as Bank & Trust in Litchfield.  She spent much of her time as a homemaker and assisting on the family farm.  Janet enjoyed animals, especially her dogs, cats, and horses.  She was a member of the Montgomery County Genealogical Society and a den mother for her sons Cub Scout pack.  Janet loved spending time with her granddaughters.

Janet is survived by her husband, Dallas H. Bergman of Litchfield, IL; two sons, Jeffrey D. (Maria) Bergman, and James W. Bergman both of Litchfield, IL; two granddaughters, Alicia (Derek) Sharer of Gridley, IL, and Kelsey Bergman of Litchfield, IL; 1 great granddaughter, Whitney Sharer; two sisters, Carolyn (Loren) Kessinger of Benton, AK, and Donna (John) Munson of Decatur, IL, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Litchfield Family Funeral Service, 700 South State Street, Litchfield, IL.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Schwab officiating.

Burial will take place in the Elmwood Cemetery.
