Joseph Dale Lovell, 89, of Litchfield, IL, passed away May 3, 2022 at 12:50 A.M. at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care in Gillespie, IL.
He was born on December 13, 1932 in Roxana, IL, the son of the late Robert and Viola (Nelson) Lovell.
Joe served in the US Army during the Korean War Period as a combat aid.
He owned and operated the Litchfield Seat Cover and Upholstery for over 50 years.
Mr. Lovell married Lorene (Johnson) Heeren on May 10, 1957 at Concordia Lutheran Church in Cottage Hills. She preceded him in death on May 6, 2016.
Joe enjoyed being with his family, traveling, fishing, taking care of his yard, and spending time in Florida with his wife during the winter months in the latter part of his life.
He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Litchfield.

Preceded in death were his parents, wife, step-son, Stephen Heeren of Meadowbrook, IL, sons, Mark and Scott Lovell both of Litchfield, IL, daughters, Stephanie Lovell of Raymond, IL & Denise Green-Lovell of Litchifeld, IL, granddaughter, Daniel Green of Litchfield, IL, brothers, Bob Lovell of Roxana, IL, Frank Lovell of Roxana, IL, Dean Lovell of Roxana, IL, and Don Lovell of Alton, IL, sisters, Iris Dix of California, Margaret Frenz of Palmyra, IL, Millie Strunk of Medora, IL, Lou Sunderland of Godfrey, IL, Grace Wilton of Sherman, IL, Jessie Vidakovich of Jacksonville, IL, & Ann Wiltshire of Shipman, IL.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the Faith Lutheran Church in Litchfield, IL. Rev. James Ritter will officiate. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until time of the service at the church. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Litchfield Food Pantry.
