Joseph "Ted" Gasser

November 26, 1928- March 22, 2011

82, of Litchfield passed away Tuesday morning March 22, 2011. Ted was born on November 26, 1928 in Raymond, IL, to Anna (Steward) Gasser and Theodore Lewis Gasser. On May 26, 1954 in Litchfield he married Shirley (Kahl) Gasser. Ted had one daughter Sheryl K. Gasser of Litchfield and one son Todd Gasser of Butler. Ted was a long distance truck driver until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Litchfield and enjoyed gardening, canning and was an excellent cook. Ted was always repairing automobiles, trucks, machinery and restored a 1928 Model A Ford.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley (Kahl) Gasser,  Children, Sheryl K. Gasser of Litchfield and Todd Gasser of Butler IL, Grandchildren: Justin Vancil (Angie) of Hillsboro, IL, Joseph L. Gasser of Hillsboro, IL, Troy Gasser of Litchfield, IL, Ashley Gasser of Hillsboro, IL, Crystal Wiese (Robert) of Carlinville, Brothers and Sisters: Mary Paulene White of DeKalb, IL, Catherine R. Werrback of Fox River Grove,IL, and several Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation will be 5:00P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Litchfield Family Funeral Service. The burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be made out to the Gillespie City Cemetery, to donors choice, or to the family.
