Judy Ann Hantla, 85, of Litchfield, IL, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield, IL.
Born on August 22, 1938, in Litchfield, she was the daughter of Beldon and Frieda (Plozizka) Baker.
A proud graduate of Litchfield High School's class of 1956, Judy married Richard "Dick" Hantla on September 30, 1956, at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield.
Judy had a passion for numbers and solving challenges, which led her to a successful career as an accountant for various businesses. She honed her skills at Martin Mix Co., reentered the workforce at Boyd’s Litchfield Lumber after raising her sons, and briefly worked at Litchfield National Bank before finding her career role at Fleming CPA’s. She retired in 2009 at the age of 70.
An avid sports fan, Judy especially loved the Chicago Cubs, and she had the honor of throwing the first pitch at a Cubs game in 2002.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother, David Baker.
She is survived by her sons, Scott (Amy) Hantla of Lenexa, KS, and Larry Hantla of Panama City Beach, FL, as well as two grandchildren, Avery (Scott) and Gabriella.
The Hantla family extends special thanks to her private caregivers, Stacy and Georgia, and the compassionate staff at Copper Creek Cottages.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Litchfield, IL.
Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the same location.
With burial in Elm Lawn Cemetery, Litchfield.
