Ken "Mac" McDonald

Ken F. “Mac” McDonald, 81, of Litchfield, IL, passed away Monday, July 27, 2020 at 11:45 A.M. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.

He was born on August 31, 1938 in St. Louis, MO, a son of John and Corrine (Litteken) McDonald.

Ken married the former Judith A. Aubuchon November 24, 1960 in St. Louis, MO. She survives.  They were preparing to celebrate 60 years of marriage in November.

Ken attended Normandy High School in St. Louis, where he played basketball and golf and was awarded a scholarship to college to continue to play.  He attended Oklahoma A&M, and then transferred to Christian Brothers College in Memphis, TN where he graduated with an accounting/business degree.

Ken was an avid golfer.  He loved to play, watch, read and talk about golf.  He collected putters and has over 250 putters in his collection.  Ken also loved to fish, and he loved to learn all about history. He was a great storyteller and was always one to tell a joke or two.  He once told his family that he had no regrets, his life turned out just the way he wanted it.  Everyone who met Ken, loved him.  Most of all, Ken loved his wife, children and grandchildren.

 Ken was a member of the Litchfield Moose Lodge and was awarded Moose Member of the year.  He was also a member of Timber Lakes Golf Course.

He is survived by his wife, Judy McDonald of Litchfield, IL

Sons,    Bryan (Kelley) McDonald of Galveston, TX & Daniel (Donna) McDonald of St. Louis, MO

Daughters,  Kelly (Doug) Taylor of Litchfield, IL &  Kara McDonald of Santa Fe, NM

6 Grandchildren,  Tiffany, Casey McDonald, Annie, Lilly Taylor, Harvest, Willow McDonald

Brothers,   Pat (Helen) McDonald of St. Louis, MO &  Mike (Barbara) McDonald of St. Louis, MO

Sisters,     Jean (Bob) Piant of St. Louis, MO. &  Maureen McDonald of St. Louis, MO

Several nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Joyce Sanders and Barbara Gutman

Cremation rites were entrusted to Litchfield Family Funeral Service.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date
