Kristen Kay Benning

On Wed August 9th, 2012 the Lord welcomed Kristen Kay Benning into his arms. While she will be missed and loved by so many, her presence in Heaven gives us inner peace. Kristen was pronounced dead at a hospital in Davenport, Florida. She was 36.

Kristen was born June 10, 1976 in DeKalb, IL to Marlyn and Linda Jo (Smith) Benning.

> Kristen was a graduate of Litchfield High School,  with the class of 1994. She pursued college and was currently employed at the Illinois State Board of Education. Kristen was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Litchfield.

She was an avid animal lover and an amazing aunt with the most generous heart.

> She is survived by Marlyn and Linda Benning(Parents), Amanda Olinger of Pawnee, IL, Josh and Marie Zirkelbach of Beason, IL, Aaron Benning of Nokomis, IL(Siblings), Mary Francis Benning (Grandparents) of Hillsboro, IL and Russell and Betty Mortimer (Grandparents) of Virden, IL.

Services were held at the Faith Lutheran Church in Litchfield, with Pastors Leslie Mitkos and Larry Brakenhoff.  Providing music for the service was Suzanne Stewart. 

She was laid to rest in Edgewood Cemetery.  Pallbearers assisting were, Jonathan Benning, Paul Benning, Matthew Benning, Lucas Benning, Kyle Norris, Nate Graham, Josh Zirklebach, Joe Olinger, Carter Olinger and Trey Woodman.

Memorials may be given in her memory to the Adopt-A-Pet in Benld or Faith Lutheran Playground Equipment Fund.
