Laura S. Armetta, a 73-year-old resident of Litchfield, IL passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday morning, May 7, 2025.
Born on November 21, 1951, in Chicago, IL, a daughter of Albert and Marie Gognat Furman. Laura spent her high school years and graduated from Litchfield High School with the class of 1969. After completing her teaching degree at Southern IL University Carbondale in 1972, she married Henry Armetta in 1973, but they later divorced.
Laura began her career as an English teacher in Florida. Later, they moved to Oakland, CA where she worked as a supervisor at AT&T for ten years. After returning to Illinois, she relocated to Skokie, Il where she held the position of office administrator for the National Selected Morticians Trade Association Company.
Laura had a passion for reading, genealogy research, Judo competitions and was very adventurous. Laura traveled to 49 of the 50 states as well as Bermuda, Mexico, Canada and Japan. She was very close to family, her children, and maintaining lifelong friendships. These were her greatest treasures.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Kathleen Furman.
Laura is survived by, daughter, Jennifer Armetta of Litchfield, IL, daughter, Elizabeth Armetta of NY, one granddaughter, brother, Mike (Victoria) Furman of Litchfield, IL, brother, Andrew (Bonnie) Furman of Litchfield, IL.
Memorials may be made to Al Furman Scholarship at Litchfield Bank and Trust or TASC at 1902 Summit Street in Hillsboro, IL.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
