Leona May (Crawford) Spears

Leona May Spears, 73 of Litchfield, IL, formerly of Raymond, IL passed away Monday morning at 7:24 A.M. at her home in Litchfield.

She was born on December 13, 1947 in Litchfield, IL, a daughter of the late Clyde & Mildred (Brittan) Crawford.

Leona most recently was employed by the Litchfield Community Unit School District as a cafeteria worker after retiring from Georgia Pacific in Mt. Olive, IL.

Her strong-willed determination couldn’t be matched by any other. She fought through her physical ailments until the last day, making sure she didn’t miss any family events. She never judged anyone and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Leona enjoyed camping, playing cards and doing puzzles. Most importantly, she loved being a grandma and a great-grandma.

Kimberley Burdell of Mt. Olive, IL

Jamie (Corey) Sorsen of Mt. Olive, IL

Grandchildren, Kevin (Hannah) Black, Courtney Tabaka, Justin (Carly) Knuth, Austin & Wyatt Burdell, MaKenzy & MaKayla Sorsen

Great-granddaughter, Lucille Tabaka and 1, great-granddaughter on the way, Oakley Sorsen

Siblings, Harold, Ronnie, Lester, David, Dale, Quinlin, & Ricky Crawford, Dorothy Warren, Alma Knes, & Sharon Littrell.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Alvin Crawford.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 3, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Litchfield Family Funeral Service in Litchfield, IL. Pastor Dave Ziegenbein, minister of the Pleasant Hill Christian Church will officiate. Burial will be at the Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Honey Bend, IL. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the family.
