Leta A. Hartke, 79, of Litchfield, IL, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022 at 4:54 A.M., at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
She was born on December 20, 1942 in Taylorville, Illinois, a daughter of the late Herschel and Mildred (German) Masters.
Leta married Maynard W. Hartke on January 26, 1964 in Litchfield, IL at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Litchfield, IL. He survives.
Leta graduated from Taylorville High School with the class of 1961.
She was a devout Christian and loyal member of Trinity Lutheran Church, homemaker and accountant for their family farm west of Litchfield. She was a farm wife who enjoyed her daily chores. During the fall she would operate the 4 wheel drive tractor and work the grain cart. Leta enjoyed spending the holidays with her family and decorating their large family dining table. Each holiday had its own special place setting that included everything down to the napkin holders. Everything was always in place. She was a devoted wife and mother.
She is survived by her husband, Maynard W. Hartke in Litchfield, IL

She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Litchfield, IL. Pastor Ken Bergo will officiate. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 3:00 until 6:00 P.M. at the Litchfield Family Funeral Service in Litchfield, IL. Burial will take place in the Trinity Lutheran cemetery.
