Linda Kay (Calahan) Boerckel

Linda Kay Boerckel, 71, of Litchfield, IL, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 2:46 A.M. at her home in Litchfield.

She was born on May 9, 1951 in Red Bud, IL, a daughter of the late Elmer M. & Lucille E. (Wilkerson) Calahan.

Linda married Gene T. Boerckel on October 12, 1968 in Litchfield, IL, and he preceded her in death on May 7, 2004.

Linda attended Mt. Olive School and went on to become a Certified Nursing Assistant, working for several different doctor offices, nursing homes and providing in home care.

She was a member of the Moose and the Ladies Auxiliary – VFW Post 3912. She enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her family.

She is survived by:

Son, Gene T. (Linda) Boerckel, JR. of Lexington, MO

Daughters, Christina M. (Will) Sargent of Alma, AR & Tania G. Boerckel of Gillespie, IL

Grandchildren, Crystal, Carrie, Austin, Gena, Schane, JR., Jordan, Shelby, Chad, Kassandra and Josiah.

Sisters, Luetta Jacob of Kansas City, MO &  Sue Norden of Lindsborg, KS

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gene, and siblings, Goldie, Melvin, Jack, Wilma, Pauline, Ruthann, Betty, Ruby, Lonnie and Debbie.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the Litchfield Family Funeral Service in Litchfield, IL. Linda’s nephew, Rev. Larry Helms will officiate. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2022 from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Montgomery County Cancer Association.
