Linda Ruth (Hampton) Budd

Linda Ruth Budd, 68, of Litchfield, IL, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 4:07 A.M. at her residence in Litchfield, IL.

She was born on July 17, 1953 in Litchfield, IL, a daughter of the late Harold Eugene & Irene (Clark) Hampton.

On May 22, Linda and George Wayne Budd would have celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary. They were married in 1976 at the Litchfield Free Methodist Church in Litchfield. He survives.

Linda graduated from Litchfield High School with the class of 1971.

Mrs. Budd was a telephone operator for the Consolidated Telephone Company where started working the switch boards in Mattoon, IL. Later, within the same company she became a sales representative and later retired in 2007.

Linda loved to garden and take care of her lawn, almost as much as she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking for others and being the first to lend a helping hand. She was generous, kind, talkative, and she never met a stranger; a trait being passed down to her granddaughter.

Grandchildren,   Sydney, Jacob, Kylie, Connor and Landon

Brothers, Harold “Jr.” Hampton, Maynard “Butch” Hampton, Richard Hampton & Bill Hampton

Sister,  Janet Stockamp

She was preceded in death by her parents, and 4 sisters, Mildred Jackson, Dorothy Wilson, Betty Davee & Marion Brown

Funeral services will be held Friday, May, 20, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the Litchfield Family Funeral Service in Litchfield, IL. Visitation will be Thursday, May 19, 2022 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Litchfield Family Funeral Service. Burial will be in the Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield, IL. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Montgomery County Cancer Association.
