Lorene I. (Randle) Lay, 98, of Litchfield, passed away on Sunday evening, March 10, 2013 at Heritage Health Care in Litchfield, IL.
Lorene was born on October 6, 1914 to Lorenzo "Louie" and Mae (Hicks) Randle on the Seymour Farm just west of Beckemeyer School in Hillsboro, IL. On March 4, 1936 she married Otto E. Lay in Litchfield and he passed away on September 22, 1965. Lorene attended several rural schools and completed her GED in 1970.
Lorene spent most of her life as a farmwife. The Lay's lived south of Litchfield and north of Walshville. Lorene later moved into Litchfield. She was a member of the Walshville Baptist Church, Saint Francis Hospital Auxiliary, and had served on the Hart Cemetery Board.
Lorene is survived by a son, Ross (Mary) Lay of Litchfield; daughter, Betty (Mike) Hittmeier of Warren, ME; 3 grandchildren, Lisa (Steve) Heyen of Litchfield, Christine (Peter) Sobran of Madsion, CT and Dan Lay of Breckenridge, CO; great grandchildren, Eric & Tyler Heyen of Litchfield and Alexander Sobran of Madison, CT; 3 sisters, Helen Vollintine, Bernice Akeman and Charlotte Titsworth all of Walshville; 3 brothers, Donald Randle of Litchfield, Shirley (Elaine) Randle of Irving, IL and Charles (Frances) Randle of Litchfield, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto; parents, Louie and Mae Randle; brothers, Maurice and Kenneth Randle and sisters, Pauline Faulkner, Lois Payne, and Wilma Priddle.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Litchfield Family Funeral Service,
Litchfield, IL.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Oley Lawson and Brother Ed Diveley officiating.
Burial will follow in Hart Cemetery south of Litchfield.

the St. Francis Hospital Building Fund, Hart Cemetery or the Walshville Baptist Church.
