Mary Jane (Cavinder) Harms

Mary Jane Harms, 75, of Litchfield, IL, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 4:29 A.M. at her residence.

She was born on March 20, 1947 at her family’s home in Staunton, IL a daughter of the late Harold and Daisey Mae (Tilley) Cavinder.

Mary Jane married Glenn Carl Harms on November 3, 1995 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro, IL. He survives.

She was a Litchfield High School Graduate with the class of 1965 and a member of the Living Stones Church in Litchfield.

 Over the years, Mary Jane worked at Roller Derby, Superior Sports, and the Christian Book Store all in Litchfield. Most recently she employed by the Bank and Trust Company in Litchfield, IL as a bank teller for 19 years until her recent retirement at the age of 70.

Mary Jane was always lending a helping hand when she could and will be remembered for her kindness she always showed to everyone. She loved to read and nurture her garden, and spend time researching her family tree and genealogy. She also enjoyed traveling especially to Georgia.

Aimee (Harold) Summann of Vandalia, IL

Kelly (Grant) Harms-Sefton of Vandalia, IL

15 grandchildren & 6 great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, and three sisters, Donna Cavinder, Kay Barto, and Judy Havron.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 29, 2022 at the Living Stones Church in Litchfield, IL. Pastor Jay Martin will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 A.M. until service time in the church. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield, IL. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Hearts United, Living Stones Church or Love Package in Butler, IL
