Maud E. Belden, 77, of Litchfield, IL, passed away, surrounded by her loved ones, on January 13, 2020 at 11:20 P.M. at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield, IL.
She was born on August 18, 1942 in De Quoin, IL, a daughter of the late Robert & Norma (Neal) Furlow.
Maud was a graduate of Lincolnwood High School in Raymond, IL.
On June 4, 1988 she married John Belden at the First Baptist Church in Litchfield, and he preceded her in death on April 5, 2013.
Over the years, Maud was employed in the laundry department at Hillsboro Hospital and as a housekeeper at Care Inn in Litchfield. She is most well known for her employment at Coffman’s Drug Store, in Litchfield.
Maud was very active in her membership at the First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and facilitated several Bible Study Groups, including the Christian weight loss program, First Place. She was known and described as a selfless person, which reflected in the several volunteer hours at the St. Francis Hospital Gift Shop, Hearts United, and the Red Cross Blood Bank.
She was a woman of strong faith, who loved Jesus and Blue Grass Music.

Grandchildren, Kaylie (Justin) Ripley, Kelsie (Tim) Roberts, Hannah Bechtel, Kendra (Nathan) Kirby
Great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Avery, Jayce, Cadence, Parker Jo, and Quinn
Sisters, Naomi (Bob) Schmidt, Mary Held, and Roberta (Denny) Roberts
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 17, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Litchfield, IL. Pastor Jason Plumer will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M, also at the First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Elm Lawn Cemetery. The family suggests any memorial contributions be directed to the First Baptist Church of Litchfield.
