Phyllis J. (Foster) Lively

Phyllis J. Lively , 86 of Litchfield, passed away Friday afternoon, December 4, 2015, at Heritage Health Therapy & Senior Care in Litchfield, IL. Phyllis was born November 21, 1929, in Springfield, IL, a daughter of John Q. and Mattie M. Hines Foster. She married Boyd E. Lively June 26, 1949, in Litchfield, IL. Phyllis began her working career as a waitress at Varner's Overhead Restaurant in Litchfield. She also provided child care in her home for many years. She worked as the Manager of Montgomery Place for several years and retired from Rural King in Litchfield. Phyllis was a member of the Litchfield Southern Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was the church pianist for over 40 years. She was a 65 year member of the Phi Sigma Nu Sorority and Daughters of the American Revolutionary. Phyllis was an accomplished artist and musician and enjoyed spending time with her family. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd E. Lively in October 2015, parents and threegrandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Litchfield Southern Baptist Church, Litchfield, IL. Funeral Services will be conducted at the conclusion of visitation at 5:00 pm with Rev. Mike Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery, Litchfield at a later date. Phyllis is survived by her son, John E. (Phyllis) Lively of Farmersville, IL, daughter, Kelli J.(Robert) Streitmatter of Litchfield, IL, daughter, Kim M. (Brett) Stamps of Edwardsville, IL, daughter, Tami L. (Tim) Mix of Litchfield, IL, daughter, Valerie A. (Joseph) Kolesar of King Wood, Texas, daughter, Jennifer L. (Rick Hearn) Gaffney of Litchfield, IL, son, Shane F (Jill) Lively of Hillsboro, IL, 21 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, sister, Reva Ruby of Springfield, IL and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Litchfield Southern Baptist Church.
