Ramona June (Vogel) Blankenship

Ramona June Blankenship, 84, of Litchfield, IL, passed away January 4, 2021 at 11:52 P.M. in her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born on January 2, 1937 in Litchfield, IL, a daughter of the late George Earl & Erma Emma (Quick) Vogel.

Ramona attended Litchfield High School. She was retired from Cafeteria Manager from Litchfield Community School District. Over the years she worked for Consolidated Communications Telephone Company, Barry Nursing Home and Jubelts Bakery.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to luncheons with her high school classmates, relaxing on her patio and enjoying the companionship of her beloved dog and cat.

She married Gary Lee Blankenship on January 3, 1955 in Walshville, IL. He preceded her in death in September 2012.

She is survived by:

Daughters, Karla Davis of Litchfield & Carrie (Mo) Beeler of Raymond

6 grandchildren, Michael Cunningham of Phoenix, AZ, Travis (Brittani) Cunningham of Litchfield, IL, Jessica (Justin) McWilliams and Kelsey Davis of Elizabethton, TN, & Wyatt (Fiancé Kacie Boerckel) of Litchfield, IL and Kara Bono of Staunton, IL.

7 great-grandchildren,   Lexi, Dominic, & Jenson Cunningham, Charlotte McWilliams, Killian, Emilie Vann & Beverly Bono                

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, husband, Gary; sister, Eileen Vogel & great-grandson, Alexander Cunningham

Private Family Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Litchfield Family Funeral Service in Litchfield, IL. Ramona’s cousin, Marty Nagel will officiate. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Bethel Ridge Cemetery near Atwater, IL.

Due to CDC guidelines, social distancing and masks will be required.
