Ray L. Hemken

Ray Lyle Hemken, 68 of Litchfield, IL passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Montgomery Nursing & Rehab in Hillsboro, IL.  
Ray was born February 13, 1955, in Litchfield, IL, a son of Charles Leslie Hemken and Dorothy Kathleen Watson Hemken.  
Ray graduated from Litchfield High School with the class of 1973.  He married Sandra Kay Bone on July 16, 1982. 
He was employed as a union welder for Tru-Weld and at Georgia Pacific as a fork lift operator.  He was a member of the Litchfield Moose Club.  Ray loved dirt track racing, listening to music in the garage, and mowing his yard.  He always enjoyed a snack and a can of coke.    
Ray was preceded in death by his spouse, Sandra Kay Hemken on September 17, 2017, his parents, twin brother, Rick Hemken, sister, Gertrude Bearden, and brother, Jason Hemken.  
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, 9:00 am - 11:00 am at Litchfield Family Funeral Service, Litchfield, IL.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Litchfield Family Funeral Service, Litchfield.
Officiating is Pastor Rudy Elam
Burial will follow in Crabtree Cemetery, Litchfield.
Ray is survived by his son, Jerry Joe (Lyssa) Laurent of O'Fallon, IL, son, Justin (Katie) Hemken of Annandale, VA, daughter, Casey (Mark Timmermann) Logsdon of Litchfield, IL, son, Leslie "Levi" Hemken of Litchfield, IL, 14 grandchildren, brother, Lloyd  Hemken of Litchfield, IL, brother, Kevin Hemken of Walshville, IL, brother, Paul Hemken of Sorento, IL, sister, Wilma Osborne of Staunton, IL, sister, Nancy Koonce of Litchfield, IL, sister, Nora Tolby of Litchfield, IL, sister, Phyllis Biermann of Hillsboro, IL, and several nieces and nephews.  
Memorials may be made to Litchfield Moose Club.
