Richard “Rick” Kreis, 64 of Litchfield passed away on August 4, 2022 at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield, IL.
He was born on August 18, 1957 in Springfield, IL a son of Carroll and Margaret Ann Kreis.
Rick was a graduate of Tri-City High School in Buffalo, IL. He managed Alexander Lumber Company in Litchfield and later worked for Mac’s Fire and Safety in Litchfield. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Hilltop Coin Club in Hillsboro IL and the Litchfield Sportsman Club. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, coin collecting and spending time with his family.
He is survived by:
Father, Carroll Kreis of Litchfield.
Wife, Marie Kreis of Litchfield.
Children, Melissa Kreis of Springfield, James Kreis of Litchfield, Jennifer Kreis of Springfield & Andrew Kreis of Litchfield.
One grandson, Jeremiah Kreis of Springfield.
Siblings, Brenda (James) Smith of Gravois Mills, MO, Nancy (Jim) Welch of Chandler AZ, Ron (Jennifer) Kreis of Mesa, AZ, and Mark (Toni) Kreis of Shawnee, KS,
Several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Margaret Ann Kreis of Springfield.
Funeral services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Litchfield, IL on Tuesday August 9th. Visitation will be held from 3:00pm-5:00pm at the church. Funeral services will follow immediately after visitation at 5:00pm. Pastor James Ritter will officiate. Dinner will follow at the close of services. Cremation rites will be accorded.
The family wishes memorial contributions be made to: Faith Lutheran Church, The Litchfield Sportsman’s Club or the Pheasants Forever-Montgomery County Chapter.
