Rick L Hemken

Rick L. Hemken, 65, of Staunton, IL, passed away May 22, 2020 at 11:36 P.M. at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

He was born on Februray 13, 1955 in Litchfield, IL, a son of the late Charles Leslie and Dorothy Kathleen (Watson) Hemken.

Rick graduated from Litchfield High School. Over the years Rick was employed by True Weld in Litchfield, IL and retired from being an asbestos remover and was a bartender.

He is survived by:

Daughter,         Jennifer (Ryan) Edwards of Staunton, IL

Granddaughter,  Christina Scranton of Jerseyville, IL

Great-grandson,  Kamden Wayne Martin of Jerseyville, IL

Siblings, Nora Tolby, David Lloyd Henken, Nancy (Don) Koonce, Phyllis Biermann and his twin brother, Ray Hemken all of Litchfield, Il; Kevin (Jolynn) Hemken of Walshville, IL, Paul (Mary Jo) Hemken of Sorento, IL and Wilma (Clyde) Willette-Osborn of Staunton, IL

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Gertrude Seal, Brothers, Jason Hemken and Raymond Hemken in infancy.

Due to Coronavirus restrictions and abiding by the CDC guidelines set forth by the Department of Public Health, the family will receive visitors Friday, May 29, 2020 from 11:00 – 1:00 P.M. by means of a drive-through visitation at Litchfield Family Funeral Service, Litchfield, IL. Following, a private family graveside service will take place at 1:30 P.M. at Crabtree Cemetery in Litchfield. Pastor Rudy Elam will officiate. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the family of Rick Hemken.
