Robert J. Broderick, 85, of Litchfield, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11:19 a.m. at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.

He was born on July 6, 1929 in Litchfield, IL, a son of Richard and Julia (Koski) Broderick.

Robert married the former Beverly Dillinger on June 24, 1961 in Greenville, IL. She survives.

Mr. Broderick worked in the Monterey Coal Mine in Carlinville and was a factory worker at Roller Derby in Litchfield. He retired as a security guard for Pinkerton working at Echlin.

He was a member of Cornerstone Church in Litchfield, IL.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly and:

Grandchildren,                   Casey Broderick, Brian Tyrrell, Randy Tyrrell, Mark Wilson, Ashley Rowe, & Tabitha Conlee

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Roberta Broderick, brothers, Leonard Broderick, Charles Broderick, Richard Broderick, sisters, Pauline Plovich, & Iona Link.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Church in Litchfield, IL. Pastor Steve Benthal will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4 until 6 p.m. at the church. The family suggests memorials be directed to Adopt-a-Pet Shelter in Benld or Montgomery County Cancer Association.
