Sandra Jean (Chismarick) Fontana

Sandra Jean (Chismarick) Fontana, 84 of Litchfield, passed away on the evening of Saturday, May 30, 2026, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O Fallon, IL.  

Sandra was born September 22, 1941, in Staunton, IL,  a daughter of John and Margaret (Whitman) Chismarick. She was one of eleven children. In her lifetime Sandra was able to raise her three children, get her GED and graduate from Bryan College as a CNA.

Sandra was a beloved mother and grandmother. She loved horses and dogs, and worked as a CNA for nearly 30 years. 

Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel R. Fontana, son, Vincent Brian Burritt, father, John Chismarick, mother, Margaret Anne Giller, brother, Kenneth Chismarick, brother, George Giller, brother, Bobby Giller, brother, Sonny Giller, sister Nancy (Giller) Weller, and sister Ruth Ann (Giller) Vollintine.

No services are planned at this time per the family's request.

Sandra is survived by her daughter, Valarie Ann (Marshall) Bliss of Roseville, CA, daughter, Violet Castro of Sacramento, CA, nine granchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and siblings, Roberta (Bertie), Eddie, Lily, and Maggie.
