Steven "Steve" G. Schmidt

Steven G. Schmidt, 71 Years, of Litchfield, IL, formerly of Highland, passed away on Saturday, March 15. 

Steve was born on May 5, 1953 to Donald and Wanda (Sills) Schmidt in Danville, IL.  

 
Steve graduated from Highland  High School with the class of 1971. He married Sandi Germanceri in 1973 and later divorced. Steve retired from Brinks Armored Car Company in 2017.  He was the Treasurer and later a Board Member of the Marine Sportsman Club and also  committeemen for Duck's Unlimited, Highland, IL Chapter.  
He was an avid hunter and sportsman who loved the outdoors.
 
  
Steven is survived by his three daughters, Carolyn J. (Rusty) Chambers, Crystal D. Schmidt (companion Lee Compton), Cheryl R. Schmidt (companion Blaze Hardt): two grandchildren Brendan Chambers, and Meghan Chambers (companion Jake Jurgena) all of Litchfield; brother, Allen (Kathy) Schmidt of Belleville, IL, one niece, Jennifer (Schmidt) Caroll, one nephew, Justin Schmidt, three great nephews and one great niece.

  
Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Donald E. and Wanda L. Schmidt.

  
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 22 from 10am-12pm  at Litchfield Family Funeral Service in Litchfield, IL, followed by services at noon. 

  
Memorials are suggested to the Marine Sportsman Club of Highland.
