Valgenia Mae Savage, 76, of Litchfield, IL, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021 at 6:30 P.M. at her residence.
She was born on March 4, 1945 in St. Louis, MO, a daughter of the late Mack Edgar and Edna Elizabeth (Simpson) Shelton.
Val married Darrell Dean Savage on July 12, 1963 in Hillsboro, IL. He survives.
She was a member of the Southside Church in Litchfield, IL. Val worked at Echlin and Walmart, both in Litchfield.
Val enjoyed going to church, playing Bingo, bowling, and family gatherings, especially during the holidays. Her cooking and laughter will be greatly missed.
Along with her husband, Darrell, she is survived by her daughters, Connie (Darren) Cartwright & Deanna (Darren) Jones, both of Litchfield; 6 grandchildren, Cory Carter, Sarah (Jon) Niehaus, Adam (Amber) Carter, Jessica Trimble, Jimmy Belt, & Ryan Jones, 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; her church family & good friend, Judy Plasters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Lloyd & Howard Jackson, Donald, Bruce “Boob”, & Pete Shelton; sister, Melba Shriver.
The family suggest memorial contributions be directed to the Southside Church in Litchfield.
Services will be held at a later date.
