Virginia "Ginny" Delores (Rue) Pastrovich

November 1, 1929 ~ September 28, 2014 (age 84) 84 Years Old


84 year old Virginia D. “Ginny” Pastrovich passed away Sunday September 28, 2014 at 2:41 p.m. at Heritage Manor in Gillespie.

Virginia was  the daughter of William Harper Rue and Nellie Ruby Reed Rue was born November 1, 1929 in Valley Park, Missouri.  She married William Pastrovich January 9, 1947 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Valley Park. He preceded her in death on October 19, 2000.

Ginny truly enjoyed being a farmwife even operating the machinery, including the combine. She was known for being an excellent cook. Ginny had previously worked at Henske News Stand, Millburg Furniture, & Barenholtz Furniture. Ginny was a coin collector, avid bowler, and played pinochle. But, most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter Donna and husband James R. Williams of Mt. Olive, IL, son Dave Pastrovich of Litchfield, and son Michael and wife Debbie Pastrovich of Litchfield, grandchildren Matthew Williams of Nagano, Japan, Kimberly Hinkle of Fairfield, IL, Shane Pastrovich of Springfield, IL. Nick Pastrovich of Litchfield, IL, Dustin Pastrovich of Shelbyville, Il, Bradley Pastrovich of Litchfield, Il and 10 great grandchildren.  Also her brother Harold Rue and wife Helen of Valley Park, MO. and sisters Dorothy Sears, Walnut Creek CA., Mildred Borrini  and husband Louis of High Ridge, MO., Barbara Hawkins of Valley Park, MO. and a sister-in-law Carol Rue of Valley Park, Mo.

Ginny was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William, and brothers William “DeDe” Rue and Charles Rue in infancy.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 12 (noon) at Litchfield Family Funeral Service in Litchfield, IL. Visitation will be held from 10 until service time in the funeral home. Rev. Jay Johnson, minister of Union Avenue Christian Church in Litchfield will officiate. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield.

The family suggests memorials be directed to Walton Park for playgroud equipment or Coats For Kids in Llitchfield, IL.
